This weeks Spotlight is about Mr. Burgett our spanish teacher, these are the questions i asked What is your favorite thing about being an educator? What is the thing you like the least about being an educator? What are you and your students doing in class right now?How do you keep your students engaged? Or, what is your students' favorite part of the activity? What challenges does your current activity present for you and your students? What is your greatest accomplishment so far this school year? and these are his awnsers

  1. What is your favorite thing about being an educator? The opportunity to see students mature and reach their potential through hard work. Observing students change their situations for the better by learning the work ethic it takes to succeed.
  2. What is the thing you like the least about being an educator? When decisions are made or policies are formed for political reasons rather than what is best for students.
  3. What are you and your students doing in class right now? Spanish I...clothing and colors...Spanish II Double Object pronouns
  4. How do you keep your students engaged? By providing a variety of topics for study from grammar to current events as they apply to Spanish., what is your students' favorite part of the activity? I think they prefer current events and conversational aspects of Spanish versus vocab and grammar.
  5. What challenges does your current activity present for you and your students? Double object pronouns are difficult because the student must have an solid knowledge of English grammar to be successful.
  6. What is your greatest accomplishment so far this school year? I have some enjoyable classes. My second period class is very mature and high achieving. My seventh period class has, at times, pushed themselves very hard. I enjoy working with Mr. Dillingham.  I have to say the toughness, resiliency, and improvement of my basketball players has also been a highlight.
